Tell about yourself - your personality, lifestyle, etc.
Okay, so I may not be a ballebusteh, but I do manage to keep my little house in decent condition and relish the opportunity to have some one to cook for. Love the process involved in giving dinner parties, the planning, shopping, food prep and the company of friends, and although I can be incredibly pedantic about the proper use of language, I do consider "Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm" to be a word, and one of my absolute favorites to hear. I have been married, divorced and engaged and disengaged, in that order. Each has been a learning experience and I wouldn't change a single one of them, even if I could. I maintain a friendship with my Exes. We exchange e-mail and phone calls and sometimes, even have dinner together. I cannot see the logic and hating a person just because I'm no longer in love with him. Love does not die, it merely changes costumes for the next scene in the next act of the play. It might be a common (mis)conception that a man and a woman cannot maintain a platonic friendship, but I think that's more wishful thinking than absolute fact. All of my friends are male and straight and I like it that way. I set the ground rules and the bar pretty high. I'm keeping my friends, even if it means Permanent Singlehood. I hope that doesn't scare you away.

What kind of person are you interested in meeting?
The man I'm looking for should be kind-hearted without being a door-mat, smart without turning every conversation into a contest of intellectual superiority and wise enough to be able to laugh at himself, at me, at the world in general. Life is too long to spend it being argumentative and miserable, don't you agree? I really need someone to celebrate my faith with me, not just tolerate it, so being an observant Jew is a plus for me. Having someone to sing the Havadallah blessing, that would be so nice.

Please have a sense of humor and a serious sex drive. Please be mentally stable and not in need of anti depressant or anti anxiety medication (long, but very entertaining story there). A memorable line from "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" refers to life after losing a partner and goes a little like this: "It would be an awfully small heart, that didn't have room to love another".

My house may be small, but my heart has many rooms and hallways, stairways and verandas. Plenty of space for you.

What sort of relationship would you like at this point in your life.
What sort of relationship? Are you kidding? The One-On-One, Where-have-you-been-all-my-life, Instant-Electricity, Wake-me-up-in-the-middle-of-the-night-to-share-a-good-thing kind of relationship, naturally!

Which is your favorite Jewish holiday? How do you like to observe / celebrate?
I love Havdallah, it's a beautiful thing, but it can't be celebrated alone, not really.

How important a role did Judaism play in your life growing up? And now?
I am the only Jew in my family. My Judaism grounds me and defines me and gives me peace

Have you ever visited Israel? Describe your travels / experience there.
I've never been to Israel. My Rabbi has encouraged me to go, but I'm trying to avoid war zones in this lifetime.

Name some of your all-time favorite music / movies / TV / books.
Favorite Summer Movie: "Meatballs" with Bill Murray
Favorite Book: The Door Into Summer
Favorite Old Play: A Midsummer Night's Dream - Wm. Shakespeare

Oops, just noticed a trend.
Favorite Contemporary Play :Ride Down Mt. Morgan - Arthur Miller
Favorite Music - Classical, Jazz and Flamenco Guitar for just listening, Underground House for working out, some opera, just to even the field

What do you hate doing?
I hate doing all the stuff around the house that remind me I live alone. You know, Mowing the lawn, spackling and taping cracks in the plaster, cleaning the garage, assembling furniture, etc.. You know, Man's Work.

Tell about where you grew up or where you are from.
I am originally from Virginia, my father was in the Navy and we travelled a great deal. I grew up fast.

Do you have pets? Tell about them.
I have three cats, a blonde, a brunette and a redhead. My substitute kids. They don't like each other much, but they all love me so for the sake of familial harmony, they get along.

What would you say is your best virtue?
Resilliency. I adapt and cope well.

If you were on a deserted island, and you could choose 3 items to take, what would they be?
I would take a saw, a hatchett and a book entitled "How to Build a Seaworthy Boat with Limited Materials and No Experience"

How is your physical shape? What do you do to keep in shape?
My health is great. I recently started going back to the gym 3-5 times a week and I am in the process of toning and trimming. LOVE the way that feels.

While looking at a person’s profile, following the picture, what are the first things you look for?
I look for good communication skills, someone who knows how to put words together correctly with a minimal amount of misspelling and who can get an idea across without resorting to TEXT SPEAK.

What else should we know about you?
I love my family, but we have nothing in common. I am still hoping that we don't even have blood in common, there is a rumor that my mom took the wrong baby home from the hospital, the jury is still out on that one.
