I am a single parent with a teenage son, two cats, and a very sweet dog. I love to dance! My current favorite is contra dancing. I like to hike, camp, and do other outdoors things. Of course, I also enjoy museums, zoos, concerts and theater. I play a couple of instruments. My favorite is the Appalachian dulcimer.

What kind of person are you interested in meeting?
I am looking for a woman who enjoys being touched and held a lot. I am looking for a woman who wants to be wanted, lusted after, loved and lavished with affection. I want the woman who will be my girlfriend forever. I want a woman who makes me feel warm inside. I want to light up, and smile every time I hear your name, and feel my eyes sparkle and my heart skip a beat every time we meet.

I want to hold you, kiss you and let you know how much I want you. I want to feel my heart beat a little faster whenever I think of you. Passover. I love the food, and getting together with friends I have not seen for some time.

How important a role did Judaism play in your life growing up? And now?
Although I have forsaken the blind adherence to the rigidity of ritual observance, I grew up in an Orthodox home. As an adult, the sexism and focus on ritual observance without understanding or meaning really turn me off.

What are your favorite things to eat (or what do you like to cook)?
I am particularly fond of Asian food and the Eastern European cuisine of my youth.

Have you ever visited Israel? Describe your travels / experience there.
No. I would love to though.

Where do you like to go out (on a date, with friends, to meet people)? Name some places.
I love to go contra dancing and to places like coffee houses that are quiet and comfortable enough to talk without shouting. I also like places that are not designed to get you in and out quickly. I would much prefer to take time to relax and talk.

Name some of your all-time favorite music / movies / TV / books.
Some of my all-time favorite books are the four Tolkien books, the Harry Potter series, just about anything by Zenna Henderson or Issac Asimov. Some of my favorite music come from the Renaissance, and the Baroque. I also love Steeley Span, Malicorne, other folk-rock groups, and old-timey country music. Movies: I liked I Robot, Harry Potter, and the Lord of the Rings and more recently Marley and Me (though the book was MUCH better) and Star Trek.

What type of work do you do? Do you enjoy it?
Education. Yes.

What do you enjoy doing for fun?
I love contra dancing, hiking, road trips to nowhere in particular, staying up late for a meteor shower, skinny dipping in warm springs, making love under the stars, rock hunting, browsing thrift stores and yard sales.

What do you hate doing?
I hate arguing. I also don't like housecleaning. I would much prefer to fix things than clean them.

Tell about where you grew up or where you are from.
I grew up on the East Coast. I've been to 49 of the 50 states and all of the provinces of Canada. If we get together I'll probably tell you more than you want to know. So just tell me when to stop.

Do you have pets? Tell about them.
My son and I have a cat (or maybe she has us) who showed up on our roof a few years ago, and a very sweet Australian Sheepdog.

I am gentle, caring, and attentive. I genuinely want us both to have as much fun as possible.

What was the most daring / wild thing you have ever done?
I think this is a bit too personal for a public forum, but I'll tell you if we get together.

I'm not telling, at least not here.

I am in average shape. I go contra dancing and hiking for exercise.

Actually, the picture is the second thing I look at. First I would like to know if she is shorter than I am (I am 5'9"), and if she does not smoke. After that, I look at her face and figure.
