Tell about yourself - your personality, lifestyle, etc.
I am currently a sophomore, almost junior, studying religion at a private liberal arts college. I plan on attending rabbinic school after I graduate with the intent of becoming a Rabbi. I really love my family especially my mom. I enjoy hanging out at home as well as going out to get good food. I work hard at school, so when I have free time I like to relax and chill out.
What kind of person are you interested in meeting?
I don't have an image of the person I want to meet, though I do know that I want someone who understands me. The type of person that will call randomly because they were thinking about me, the kind of person that will be thinking about me. I'm a really great person, I honestly care about others' well-being and happiness, I want someone that will care about me.
What sort of relationship would you like at this point in your life.
I am currently 19, but will be 20 at the end of this month. Even though I am perceived as young, I am looking for a full relationship that can become long-term. I want a best friend that I can share myself with that will share themselves with me. Best friends who also kiss and do 'other' things.
Which is your favorite Jewish holiday? How do you like to observe / celebrate?
One of my favorite Jewish holidays is Passover. While I'm not such a fan of eating dry crackers for a week, I love the sedars. My whole family and extended family gets together, we share stories and thoughts, everyone is together and really happy being together.
How important a role did Judaism play in your life growing up? And now?
Judaism has given me my greatest memories. I attended a Jewish sleep-away camp for 10 years. Some of my best friends I met there, being Jewish gave us an immediate commonality. Additionally my whole family gets together on Jewish holidays and they have always been a time of closeness and happiness. My Grandma used to take me to temple every Friday night, and I was always so proud to be her granddaughter. Everyone knew her and respected her. It has given us a bond that I wouldn't trade for anything. It was at camp that I discovered I want to be a Rabbi, having discovered the possibility, I know that it is the right choice for me.
What are your favorite things to eat (or what do you like to cook)?
I love to eat sushi, and Italian food. My favorite food is grilled cheese, and my favorite desert is pecan pie.
Have you ever visited Israel? Describe your travels / experience there.
I have visited Israel. I participated in a summer program in Israel, as well as an exchange program that allowed me to spend the first half of my junior year of high-school studying in Israel.
Where do you like to go out (on a date, with friends, to meet people)? Name some places.
I like to go to new restaurants and movie theaters. Most often though, when with my friends, we stay in and oder food and watch movies at home.
Name some of your all-time favorite music / movies / TV / books.
Some of my all time favorite movies include "Scorched", "The Mummy", "The Mummy Returns", and "Big Fish". I used to be a 'Charmed' fan, but at the moment most of the TV I watch comes in the mail through netflix. I love to read. I really enjoy all eight of the "Ender" series by Orson Scott Card as well as the "Clan of The Cave Bear" series by Jean M. Auel.
What type of work do you do? Do you enjoy it?
I am currently a college student which I do enjoy though sometimes the work becomes tedious. I have done a lot of volunteering within my temple in order to get a feel for being a Rabbi. I love doing it, and know that it is something I am meant to do with my life.
What do you enjoy doing for fun?
I enjoy reading, watching movies, and crafting; ie cross-stitching and drwaing
What do you hate doing?
I hate running. I enjoy swimming and bowling, and sometimes tennis. But running for tennis is more of a sprint than a run.
Tell about where you grew up or where you are from.
I grew up on Long Island, and when not at school in Aurora Ny, still live at home with my parents and younger sister and younger brother.
Do you have pets? Tell about them.
I currently have a rabbit named Henry. He is all black and so sweet. Often he will just sit contentedly on my lap as I do other work. Additionally I have five doves. They are quite loud, and often annoying but I love them too.
What would you say is your best virtue?
My best virtue is my ability to see into people and understand their emotions. I get where people are coming from which helps me understand their perspective.
What was the most daring / wild thing you have ever done?
I'm not a very wild person. I have hiked across the country of Israel, but don't know if that counts.
What terrifies you?
I am terrified of never finding love, and growing old alone to become a scary cat/dog lady.
If you were on a deserted island, and you could choose 3 items to take, what would they be?
A book collection to read for a while, an experienced pilot, and a working airplane for when I'm ready to go home.
Your ultimate intimate dinner party would include which 3 guests (dead or alive)?
My ultimate intimate dinner party would include God, Kate Bernstein, and Stephen Soundheim
How is your physical shape? What do you do to keep in shape?
I'm comfortable with my physical shape even though some may consider me overweight. I swim when I have time, I also live on the third floor of a building so there are lots of stairs.
While looking at a person’s profile, following the picture, what are the first things you look for?
The firsts things I look for are height, religion, and then what they have to say about themselves.
What else should we know about you?
I'll answer any question as honestly as I can, all you have to do is ask.
