Tell about yourself - your personality, lifestyle, etc.
I'm pretty blunt, I'm open, I'd rather say so than not at all. I'm a busy person, with school, transferring to a university, work, and the ever-going tasks of doing laundry :p I'm Jewish but it's very free form. I'm just now learning to read the Torah and learning more about what it means to be Jewish. I can be a little neurotic, people tell me it's cute, although it usually channels itself into positive energy. I'm a creative person through and through - art, music, pounding the keyboard at 2am, and I'm learning ASL.
What kind of person are you interested in meeting?
A man 18 - 24, a "nice Jewish boy" for my Ma, someone who's willing to put up with a girl who speaks her mind, musicians, artists, thinkers, someone who will play in the ball pit with me.
What sort of relationship would you like at this point in your life.
Because I'm a year away from transferring to a different college, I'm not sure a long-term relationship would be ideal. But a nice date and someone new to talk to and listen to would be great.
Which is your favorite Jewish holiday? How do you like to observe / celebrate?
Passover. Easily the most defining of holidays, and one that everyone, Jewish or not, can participate in. Recently I haven't had anyone to celebrate with, but this coming year I'm pretty sure it'll involve lots of food, a hand written haggadah (because part of my Jewish family is Messianic) and good wine.
How important a role did Judaism play in your life growing up? And now?
It didn't. I'm a convert, and late coming one at that. Now, it's pretty prevalent. I find a lot of peace in prayer and knowing the history of these people. I'm quietly Jewish, not declaring to the world who I label myself, but in the company of others it's nice to openly admit that I am a newbie and that this is where I belong.
What are your favorite things to eat (or what do you like to cook)?
Vegan cookies. Oh wait. Those aren't very Jewish.
Have you ever visited Israel? Describe your travels / experience there.
No. One day, though.
Where do you like to go out (on a date, with friends, to meet people)? Name some places.
One a date? A vegetarian restaurant, of course. And maybe a movie, some air hockey. With friends there's usually an agenda, so shopping, out to eat, or over to hang out and cook. I don't actively go out and look for people - I tend to just meet them.
Name some of your all-time favorite music / movies / TV / books.
Music: Flogging Molly, Muse, Fallout Boy, Maroon 5, traditional Irish music - bagpipes, harp, tin whistle. Movies: Office Space, 40 year old Virgin, 300, Daneil Criag as the new James Bond. TV: Law and Order, the news, The History Channel. And I wish I had more time to read - college does that.
What type of work do you do? Do you enjoy it?
I deliver pizza! And while it's hard on my car, I love it.
What do you enjoy doing for fun?
Driving to the beach and photographing sunset, walking around shopping plazas, driving, being adventurous, playing board games, acting like a pirate, cooking
What do you hate doing?
Going to the mountains - I hate bugs, not nature. I'll try almost anything once.
Tell about where you grew up or where you are from.
Born and raised and still thriving in SoCal, I'm a city girl who's not that into the party scene. And I don't live in the OC, for the record.
Do you have pets? Tell about them.
I live at home and together there are two dogs - a miniature rat terrier who's as fat as a Christmas ham, and an old Jack Russell Terrier.
What would you say is your best virtue?
I'm ridiculously patient. And forgiving. I do have my limits but for the most part I love people too much - I can't just throw the brakes on when someone is a little eccentric.
What was the most daring / wild thing you have ever done?
I've performed Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever" piccolo solo standing next to two other marine corps players in front of a crowd of over a thousand people. And I brave the streets at night delivering YOUR pizza!
What terrifies you?
The dark. A mundane life.
If you were on a deserted island, and you could choose 3 items to take, what would they be?
Dice, Whitewolf books, and character sheets. I'd still need a pencil. Damn.
Your ultimate intimate dinner party would include which 3 guests (dead or alive)?
George Veditz, Laurent Clerc, and a really good interpreter.
How is your physical shape? What do you do to keep in shape?
I'm nowhere near skinny. I have a gym pass but honestly I don't go as much as I should. I'm working on it.
While looking at a person’s profile, following the picture, what are the first things you look for?
Religious background, schooling, the about me section.
What else should we know about you?
I'm a Deaf studies/primary education major, I love art, and when I transfer I'll be getting a minor in Jewish studies.
